Vision

Our first group of kids

Sunset over Joburg

The idea was born last century when a Troyeville teenager by the name of Sam, mentioned to Dylan Atkinson that he had nowhere to do his homework.

In the five years following that encounter Joseph Project has grown from a frustrated vision to a living reality: we serve 30-38 children each day through the Homework Club and Seeds of Hope.

Our vision is to be a living, functioning organisation which can serve as a model for anybody with similar objectives to ours.

We do not aim to expand to other geographical areas, but hope that we can provide help to people who want to run a similar project wherever they see the need.  That help would consist largely of recounting what mistakes we have made and how to avoid them.

We are a part of Youth with a Mission, an international Christian organisation focused on humanitarian, training and evangelical actvities.

Objectives

Kids doing a drama about gossip.

The 400 000 young people of Joburg's inner-city are full of potential. We want to see them leading South Africa.

Sustained growth in all areas of society requires an understanding of how God does things, because prosperity without moral value is usually at someone else's expense.

Through teaching the youth to look after their environment and to respect each other we will see positive change in the next generation.
