As of February 2006, Joseph Project is a registered Public Benefit Organisation (no. 9300 19694). This means we are able to issue tax certificates which South African taxpayers can present along with their tax return, which entitles the taxpayer to a deduction of whatever they have donated to us. 

At present, the easiest and cheapest way for us to receive money is via bank transfer inside South Africa, and SWIFT transfer internationally. Please Thom Rothwell at 'thom@josephproject.org.za' should you have any questions.  

A SWIFT transfer is sometimes known as a wire transfer - there is no difference.

We appreciate having an indication of exactly what people would like us to do with their money, eg. food for the kids, running costs (our biggest expense), educational material etc.
