Seeds of Hope began in October 2005 when Young-Mi, Jee-Hye and Mee-Jeong (three ladies of South Korean origin, now resident in South Africa) got together. As of January 2007, Esther Rothwell took over as principal of Seeds of Hope. Click here to watch a short video clip.
16 children of around 5 years of age take part in school readiness activities which involve singing and dancing, learning colours, numbers and social skills.
Seeds of Hope is run specifically for kids who who would otherwise not be in pre-primary school because their parents lack the finances.
There is space for additional children, but we wish to avoid competing with local commercial pre-primary schools. It is often hard to ensure that only the correct children get in (ie. those whose parents cannot afford a commercial pre-primary).
